Tuxedo Cake

A decadent Tuxedo Cake featuring layers of rich chocolate and creamy frosting, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • ½ cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 4 cups chocolate frosting
  • 1 cup white frosting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until combined.
  4. Carefully stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared pans.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Let cakes cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
  8. Once cooled, frost the top of one cake layer with chocolate frosting and place the second layer on top.
  9. Frost the top and sides of the cake with remaining chocolate frosting.
  10. Pipe white frosting decoratively on top for a tuxedo look.

Notes

  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting for the best results.
  • This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
