Create a fun and festive Halloween treat with these spooky skull-shaped potatoes!

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Wash and peel the potatoes, then cut them into skull shapes using a knife or a skull-shaped cookie cutter.
  3. Boil the potato skulls in salted water until fork-tender, about 15 minutes.
  4. Drain the potatoes and let them cool slightly.
  5. In a mixing bowl, add the potatoes, butter, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Mash the mixture until smooth.
  6. Stir in the cheddar cheese until well combined.
  7. Place the skulls on a baking sheet and fill each skull with the cheesy potato mixture.
  8. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until golden on top.
  9. Remove from the oven and top with a dollop of sour cream before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to use different toppings like chives or olives for added decoration.
