Instructions

  1. Season the beef roast with salt and pepper.
  2. In a skillet, brown the roast on all sides over medium-high heat.
  3. Place the sliced onions at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Transfer the browned roast on top of the onions.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the beef broth, French onion soup, thyme, and garlic powder.
  6. Pour the mixture over the roast and onions.
  7. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is tender.
