  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  3. In another bowl, combine oil, buttermilk, eggs, food coloring, and vanilla extract.
  4. Mix the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth, then add the egg and mix until well combined.
  6. Pour half of the red velvet batter into the prepared dish, spread it evenly, then top with the cheesecake mixture.
  7. Finally, pour the remaining red velvet batter on top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before slicing into bars.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add more cocoa powder to the red velvet batter.
  • These bars are best served chilled.
