- 1 cup chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, melt the butter and stir in brown sugar until well combined. Pour the mixture into a prepared cake pan and sprinkle chopped pecans on top.
- In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy, then add the vanilla.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
- Pour the batter over the pecan layer in the cake pan.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Allow to cool before inverting onto a serving platter.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar instead of light brown sugar.
