Low Carb Philly Cheesesteak Casserole

A delicious and healthy take on classic Philly cheesesteak, this casserole with turkey bacon is low in carbs and full of flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 6 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 cups bell peppers, sliced
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup provolone cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the turkey bacon over medium heat until crispy, then remove and chop.
  3. In the same skillet, add ground turkey and cook until browned.
  4. Add onions, bell peppers, mushrooms, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper. Sauté until vegetables are tender.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. Top with chopped turkey bacon and shredded provolone cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until cheese is bubbly.
  7. Remove from oven, let cool slightly before serving.

  • This dish can be prepared ahead and stored in the fridge.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like zucchini or spinach.
