Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla.
  3. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Heat oil in a deep fryer or heavy pot to 375°F (190°C).
  5. Scoop the batter into a piping bag and pipe long strips into the hot oil.
  6. Fry until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes each.
  7. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels.
  8. Dunk the warm donuts in maple syrup for glazing.
  9. Let cool slightly before serving.
