Ingredients

  • 4 large apples
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup melted coconut oil or butter
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Core and slice the apples, then place them in a baking dish.
  3. In a bowl, combine oats, flour, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg, and melted coconut oil and mix well.
  4. Spread the oat mixture over the apples evenly.
  5. If using, sprinkle chopped nuts on top of the mixture.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Let cool slightly before serving.
