  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb and beef.
  3. Add the garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture.
  4. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  5. Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it on a baking sheet.
  6. Drizzle olive oil over the top of the meatloaf.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 60 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Serve the gyro meat with pita bread and your favorite toppings like tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce.
  • For spicier gyros, add cayenne pepper to the seasoning mix.
