  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brewed coffee
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the brewed coffee and vanilla extract.
  5. Sift together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Let cool before frosting.
  10. For the frosting, mix butter, espresso, and powdered sugar until smooth and spreadable.
  11. Spread the espresso frosting on the cooled loaf cake.
