Churro Saltine Toffee

A delightful treat combining the sweet flavors of churros with the crunch of toffee and Saltine crackers.

  • 40 Saltine crackers
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and arrange the Saltine crackers in a single layer.
  3. In a saucepan, melt the butter and brown sugar together over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture comes to a boil.
  4. Pour the butter mixture over the Saltines, spreading evenly.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 5-7 minutes until bubbly.
  6. Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle chocolate chips on top. Allow to sit for a few minutes, then spread the melted chocolate evenly.
  7. Mix together the cinnamon and powdered sugar, then sprinkle over the chocolate layer.
  8. Cool completely, then break into pieces to serve.

Notes

  • For a more pronounced cinnamon flavor, consider adding more ground cinnamon to the chocolate layer.
  • Store in an airtight container to keep it fresh longer.
