Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine pumpkin puree, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Mix until smooth.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract, and mix well.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  6. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.
  7. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
