- 3 pounds beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
- Add the brisket to the pot and sear on all sides.
- Pour in beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
- Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook on low heat for several hours until the beef is tender and easily shredded.
