  • 3 pounds beef brisket
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cooking until softened.
  2. Stir in chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, and cayenne pepper.
  3. Add the brisket to the pot and sear on all sides.
  4. Pour in beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar.
  5. Bring to a simmer, then cover and cook on low heat for several hours until the beef is tender and easily shredded.

  • For extra spice, increase the cayenne pepper.
