Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.
  2. Add warm milk, eggs, and melted butter. Knead until smooth.
  3. Let the dough rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  4. Punch down the dough and roll into balls. Let rise again for 30 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Fry the dough balls until golden brown on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towels.
  7. Cool slightly, fill with pastry cream or jam, and dust with powdered sugar.
