- 1 large onion, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 cups beef broth
- 1 cup Belgian beer
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 carrots, sliced
- 2 potatoes, cubed
- 2 bay leaves
- 1 teaspoon thyme
